Role Description

Through our products and services, MMB has earned an industry-leading reputation for excellence. This is a critical role that will be instrumental in maintaining that reputation and supporting our growth objectives by winning new business at target accounts. This role will also be managing key customer relationships and communicating vital customer requirements to our Product and Marketing teams. In this role, you’ll leverage your past experience successfully driving sales strategies to discover, attract, and capture new business in two primary areas of responsibility:


New Business Development

A significant portion of the Executive Account Manager’s role involves mining for new opportunities within target accounts and most importantly, to effectively communicate our solutions to win new business.  The ability to demonstrate our expertise, and interact with customers’ executive, product, and engineering teams to illustrate the value of our solutions will be a vital function of this role. The Executive Account Manager will also be responsible for providing insights into market trends, identify and build relationships with customers, and also act as our representative at industry events.


Project Proposals & Contracts

Our customers possess a wide variety of applications, resources, and capabilities. Though our solutions are built on a common platform, most customers seek out expert advice as they scope out their projects, and require support and design services when implementing various technologies in order to fully develop and release their product solutions. 

The Executive Account Manager will become a champion of MMB’s products and solutions, acutely understand the needs and expectations of new customers, and be able to develop a laser-focused understanding of where both MMB and our customers will experience the most value on the delivery of any given development project. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Virtual or at customer locations)

  • Identify, qualify, and source new customers. Engaging with companies that benefit from our products and services, and winning new business. 
  • Assisting in business development activities by communicating with customers via phone, video conferencing app, email, or on-site. This may occasionally require after office hours to support global customers. Up to 40% travel is possible (dependent on travel restrictions due to COVID-19) and candidates should have that flexibility.
  • Effectively collecting customer requirements and managing customer expectations. This means speaking with clients ranging from Engineers to C-Level Executives in order to understand, anticipate, and meet their needs.
  • Delivering product presentations - demonstrating MMB Networks key value propositions and how our solutions will meet the customer’s needs and expectations..
  • Maintaining accurate records of all customer contact and other sales activities in our internal tools (CRM).
  • Working with the Engineering and Operations teams to monitor the progress of customer development schedules, and ensure customer expectations are being met.
  • Attending and/or participating in trade shows, conferences, and other customer-facing events or meetings (dependent on travel restrictions due to COVID-19).
  • Work closely with the Marketing team and assist in the identification, production, and maintenance of collateral to help drive sales success.

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated history of successfully mining for opportunities and closing significant new business with Tier 1 accounts. 
  • Bachelor's Degree or sufficient work experience in a similar product or services sales role.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Previous experience selling professional engineering consulting services, technology products, software and/or hardware.
  • Minimum of 2 years sales experience.


Assets (Nice to haves)

  • History in high-growth companies, delivering YoY growth greater than 50%.
  • Knowledge of Product Development process including ID, UI, HW, SW, and packaging. 
  • Knowledge of leading Internet of Things platforms, cloud services, technology, end-to-end solutions and device vendors.
  • Experience with wireless protocols like ZigBee, Thread, Bluetooth, NFC, WiFi, Wi-SUN, or Z-Wave Technologies.
  • Experience with Smart Grid, Industrial IoT, Home Automation and/or Security Products.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent working experience.


Candidates possessing the right skill set, who are located in a city other than Toronto and reside in North America will also be considered for this position.
